Jeremiah 29:11 November 30, 2011, The Annual DFW Brain Tumor Walk was held on November 5. This year we had 40 family and friends who walked and raised $4500 for the Brain Tumor Society. We continue to walk under the team name "Facing Giants" because being diagnosed with a brain tumor is a tremendous giant for anyone to face. Jess took this "GIANT" as a challenge and gave it her best effort to fight as David did when he battled with Goliath. Jess would want us to continue her fight against the "GIANT" by supporting the Brain Tumor Society in funding research that will help to find a cure. Our shirts this year stated one word "HOPE". It is our hope to find a cure so that others do not have to face what Jess and our family did. Allison McClendon created an event called "Ride 4 Jess" and it was a Bike ride of 13, 26, or 39 miles. She used this as an additional way to raise funds for the Brain Tumor Society. Jess lived these words "EACH MOMENT MATTERS...I DON'T WANT TO WASTE THIS DAY." We thank all of our family and friends who supported us during these events and for your support to fight this deadly disease that takes the lives of so many, too soon.
