JESSICA APPRECIATES YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. 5-29-2008 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "Plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 Jessica had an MRI on May 28th and this was the first one that she has had since early March. Dr. Maher was very pleased with this MRI because it showed that her brain had almost completely healed after the surgery and radiation. You could still see some scar tissue but the MRI was much improved over the one from March. At this time there was no sign of tumor regrowth! This does not mean that there is no cancer because there can still be cancer cells that are present but at this time they are not causing any regrowth. It was the best MRI that we have seen in a long time. So we are cautiously optimistic!! Jess feels great and looks wonderful! She continues with her chemo cycle which is 5 days once a month. She is starting her 6th cycle of chemo. Jess and Bo have now been married 5 months. They live their lives with a positive attitude and have a strong faith that God will lead them through all of the trials and tribulations of Jessica's brain tumor and treatments. They appreciate each day that they have to share with each other and the support that results from being married. Family and friends continue to be a tremendous support. Jessica's philosophy is that she will live a normal life and that she can face anything that arises but that she will not live a life of worry. Her energy is good and her attitude is great! Eighteen months have passed since we first discovered that Jessica had a "lesion" on her brain. To say that it has been life changing is an under-statement. Emotions have run from high to low. But positive things have come from our experience. Our family has never been closer and the extended families have been terrific. Our faith in God has been raised to a new level because without Him through the highs and lows we could not cope. Life is viewed through new eyes, on a daily basis, and the sense of what is important has changed. We have learned that things of materialistic value are at the bottom of life's priorities. Friends, and family, and good health are much more valuable. Thanks to all for your continued support and prayers and inquiries. We love all of you and consider you to be one of God's great blessings. Ronnie, Stephanie, Julianne, James, Jessica, and Bo |
